LockPress manual

LockPress is very easy to use and set up – just upload all files from the zip file you download from here or wordpress.org to your wp-content/plugins page into the folder named “lockpress” and you are done. However, despite being very easy to use LockPress is very flexible and allows you to do lot of things. We will cover all of them below.

Setting up

After you install LockPress plugin you will need to activate it. Activation is simple and usually takes a minute – you fill the form on our site and get a code to the email. Put that code into corresponding field and you are done – next you will see the settings page. All the fields are dead simple – You need to fill-in your PayPal email (the one you will receive payments to), e-mail for purchase notifications (LockPress install will send you notifications there). You can also leave the link-back checkbox marked – it will add a link to this site from your blogroll to spread the word about lockpress plugin.

How payments work

We use the most simple method of paypal processing available – for each post we generate unique purchase button so you don’t need to set up complicated back-end scripts and get a business PayPal account. The only limitation of this method is recurring purchases cancellation – when your customer cancels his subscription it will not be stopped automatically – so please stop them manually from the Purchases interface of the LockPress.

How to lock a post or a page

To “Lock” the post or a page u need to generate your lock code first. Do that by going to the Lock Codes menu and filling all the data there. Fields are self-describing. You can choose the flat option or recurring.

After you get the code you will need to paste it right into the post or page contents body. You can paste it to any place – the text above the code will be visible to everyone, while the text below the code will only be visible to those who purchased this item.

How to customize your install

You can customize your install in 2 ways – by editing templates and message strings. There are 2 separated menu options for that. Edit templates if you need to change the look and feel of the locked post or a page and edit messages if you want to specify another text for emails, success and failure notifications and the rest of communication to your end user – to make your install unique and personal.
